WASHINGTON, DC and COCONUT CREEK, FL (March 28, 2007) - Amtrak today announced the launch of a German-language version of its popular website, Amtrak.com. This new version, accessible by clicking the "Deutsch" link on the Amtrak.com homepage or logging onto Deutsch.Amtrak.com, includes all of the content and functionality of the English-language version of the site.

German-speaking users may now take advantage of the wide range of services available at Amtrak.com, including planning and booking everything from a day trip to a transcontinental journey, capitalizing on the site's extensive information on routes, stations, train schedules, and special offers.

"Outside of North America, Germany is one of our top markets," said David Lim, Amtrak's Chief Marketing Officer. "These customers are very comfortable using rail travel in their home country, and we want to make it easy for them to be able to enjoy rail travel in the United States, as well."

Amtrak.com is now available in two additional languages, German and Spanish. Amtrak launched the Spanish-language version of the site a year ago. A leader among travel industry websites, Amtrak.com accounts for 40 percent of Amtrak's ticket sales. The ease of booking online and ticketing reservations using the company's self service electronic ticketing kiosks – Quik Trak -- appeals to travelers seeking added convenience.

Both the German-language and Spanish-language versions of Amtrak.com use TransMotion® technology provided by MotionPoint Corporation. While Amtrak maintains its English-language site, MotionPoint will now maintain both the Spanish and German versions, which are promptly updated to reflect any changes made to the English site. With MotionPoint's technology, there is no need for Amtrak to maintain parallel sites or expend additional IT resources.

"We are pleased to assist Amtrak in deploying its German-language site," said Will Fleming, President and CEO of MotionPoint Corporation. "The German site clearly demonstrates Amtrak's ongoing commitment to innovative new technologies that improve customer service."
