Internet Retailer Reports On MotionPoint's Incredible Growth

Yesterday, Internet Retailer -- the premier publication covering the e-retail industry -- published a news story about MotionPoint's breakthrough website translation technology, and the tremendous growth the company experienced last year. Web site translator MotionPoint adds more than 100 clients in past year
MotionPoint Corp. has translated more than 100 web sites into foreign languages in the past year, the company reports.

That includes creating a French-Canadian site for multi-channel retailer Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc., and Spanish sites for Lumber Liquidators and 1-800-Flowers. Build-A-Bear is No. 411 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, Lumber Liquidators No. 263 and 1-800-Flowers No. 34.

MotionPoint, based in Coconut Creek, FL, provides web site translation into such languages as Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Russian and Arabic, the company says.

JupiterResearch recently reported that 37% of large U.S. companies have yet to translate their web sites into any language besides English. English is the leading language online, but it is spoken by only 388 million of the 1.2 billion worldwide Internet users, according to Zia Daniell Wigder, a senior analyst and globalization expert at JupiterResearch. Chinese is second, spoken by 184 million Internet users, followed by Spanish, 102 million, Japanese, 86 million, French and German, 59 million each, Portuguese 47 million, Korean 34 million, Italian 31 million and Arabic 29 million.
