Members of MotionPoint’s team, including SVP of Client Services Charles Whiteman, will be attending and speaking at the upcoming Shop.org Digital Summit. The conference—created specifically for digital and multichannel retailers—will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia from Oct. 5 to 7.
Whiteman will lead a breakout session entitled A Global Marketing Primer. The session features industry experts (see below) who will share their tips on how companies can develop and improve their global e-commerce planning. Attendees will discover new business opportunities and challenges, and learn successful global marketing tactics. Expect actionable recommendations, based on real-world experience, from experts and retailers who’ve done it themselves.
The session will be held in Room 121 on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m.

For more than eight years, Mr. DeSimone served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Borderfree. He was responsible for the overall strategic direction and growth of Borderfree’s global e-commerce business, and served on the company’s Board of Directors.
An e-commerce pioneer, Mr. DeSimone successfully led the transformation of Borderfree from an online currency conversion service to a provider of global e-commerce solutions for major retailers. Today, the company works with leading brands, including Saks
Fifth Avenue, J.Crew, Macy’s and Williams-Sonoma, which leverage Borderfree’s market leading technology and services platform to easily expand business into more than 100 countries worldwide. Mr. DeSimone’s career spans more than 25 years in both the financial services and technology industries. He has held senior roles in sales, operations and product development at Travelex, Citibank and Thomas Cook Financial Services. Mr. DeSimone joined Borderfree’s predecessor E4X in 2004 as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Appointed to the role of CEO in 2007, Mr. DeSimone led the development of the global e-commerce platform Borderfree is known for today. The company rebranded as Borderfree in 2013 and held its initial public offering in March 2014.
Mr. DeSimone has been recognized as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and was recently selected as one of SmartCEO’s Future 50.
SVP and General Manager of International, Gilt
Mr. Porter is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of International at Gilt an online retailer based in the United States, where he is responsible for the growth of the international business including consumer cross-border shipping and international partnerships. He previously served as the Vice President of Business Development at Gilt, where he built and managed Gilt’s business development team, devised business development strategies, and forged long-term relationships that benefited Gilt and its partners, including Starbucks, Volkswagen, Target, Virgin America, Klout, and many more.
Mr. Porter joined Gilt with extensive experience in mobile and e-commerce, having previously led the mobile business at Digital Fountain that was acquired by Qualcomm and before that at Handango, where he was primarily responsible for key global partnerships, development strategies, driving key infrastructure initiatives, launching new business units, and global partnerships. Marshall graduated Phi Beta Kappa from TCU and holds a master’s degree in Management, Economics, and International Relations from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Alex Golshan is currently VP of Omni-Channel and Global eCommerce at BCBG Max Azria Group, where he is focused on expanding BCBG’s global e-commerce presence and innovations that focus on extending customer engagement, serving customers better and provide a seamless brand presence across channels.
Previous to that, Mr. Golshan architected omnichannel strategies at Guitar Center that more than doubled online revenues. Before Guitar Center, Alex held positions as GM/VP of Multi-Channel Products at GERS (Escalate Retail), VP of Product Management & Development at Evant (now Manhattan Associates), and other management positions at Blue Martini Software, Enrst & Young Center for Technology Enablement and Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Golshan has been a keynote speaker at eCommerce One To One in Europe, as well as NRF, shop.org, eTail and various other global industry conferences.
His specialties include seamless customer experience, e-commerce and omnichannel strategies and innovations for dramatic revenue growth.

Ms. Kamen is an expert in global ecommerce and multi-channel marketing and branding. One of the first marketers in the world to launch a brand presence on Facebook, she has a deep understanding of how social media can drive engagement, loyalty and sales. She has extensive experience building brands and commerce for industries that include media, consumer products, financial services and health care. Prior to bliss, her roles included leadership posts at Condé Nast, Seventh Generation, Citibank and Pfizer.
